Meet
Shari Lee Sugarman, Esq.
Shari founded Sugarman Law P.C. in 2006 after spending years at multi-practice firms on Long Island handling commercial litigation, asset protection, and probate cases. That background is why the firm covers so much ground today. She doesn’t just know real estate law or estate planning. She’s handled the messy stuff that happens when those areas overlap.
Shari earned a Bachelor of Science in Paralegal Studies from Rivier College in Nashua, NH and her Juris Doctor from the Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center at Touro College. She’s been practicing on Long Island for over 20 years and has handled hundreds of residential real estate closings, estate plans, and business formation matters across Nassau and Suffolk County.
Outside the office, Shari has been a fixture in the Long Island legal community for years. She served as President of the Suffolk County Women’s Bar Association twice and received the Outstanding Women in Law award from Hofstra Law School in 2021. In 2012, she was honored with the Women of Great Esteem Emerald Award for her volunteer work with women and children in the New York community.
Shari sat on the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity of Long Island for 8 years and recently joined the advisory board for Blessings in a Backpack/Blessings Across Long Island, a charity that feeds children on weekends. She also coaches the Connetquot High School Mock Trial team and has judged the Suffolk County Bar Association’s high school mock trial competitions for years.
Every client at Sugarman Law gets direct access to Shari. She picks up the phone. She answers questions without making you feel like you’re on a billing clock. That’s how the firm has operated since day one and it’s why clients keep coming back.
